Bengaluru, Aug 27: Vociferously praising former chief minister Siddaramaiah, veteran Congress leader and Water Resources Minister D K Shivakumar, has said that the former will never try to destabilise the coalition government in the stat.

Speaking to reporters here, Shivakumar called Siddaramaiah a good and genuine leader. “He is not trying to topple the government. It is common for senior leaders to be politically ambitious. His remarks are, however, being misinterpreted,” he said.
“I had stood behind Siddaramaiah like a rock for five years (when he was the chief minister) and worked with him. We did try our best to make him the chief minister again, but to no avail,” he said, adding there were no differences of opinion among the ministers.
Shivakumar also took a dig at the BJP for trying to dislodge the government. “This is not a pot, for it to be broken into pieces in one go. The BJP leaders should be patient,” he said.
