Mangaluru, Nov 19: Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday inaugurated the new office building of Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee at Mallikatta here.

To mark the birth centenary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi the office has been named 'Indira Gandhi Janma Shatabdi Bhavan'. Interestingly, the opening ceremony was held on her birth centenary.
Speaking on the occasion, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president G Parameshwara, urged the district committee to utilise the facility to strengthen the party aiming at next assembly polls.
“Now, different wings of the party such as NSUI, INTUC, Youth Congress and Women's Congress can function under one roof with unity,” he said.
Urging the district-in-charge minister and party's district committee chief B Ramanath Rai to work towards winning people's heart, he said that the party should win all the assembly seats in Dakshina Kannada in 2018 elections.
Mr Rai welcomed the gathering. KPCC working president Dinesh Gundu Rao, Food minister U T Khader, former minister K H Muniyappa, KPCC vice-president B L Shanker, MLAs J R Lobo, Mohiuddin Bava and Abhaychandra Jain, chief whip in legislative council Ivan D'Souza were present among others.
