Mangalore, Dec 3: Ahinda Leader Naveenchandra D Suvarna has said that the constitutional rights and opportunities have not been given to the minorities, backward classes and the Dalit and due to this, concept of social justice has still remained to be a distant dream.
He was addressing the gathering after inaugurating the Ahinda annual convention organized by Ahinda (Jana Chaluvali) District unit, at Town Hall, in Mangalore recently.
“None of the governments so far have made a sincere attempt to bring about qualitative changes in the lives ofAhinda communities. Though the Apex Court had ordered implementation of B P Mandal Report, 39 recommendations are yet to be implemented. Women are not getting enough chance to come to the mainstream and no government is attempting to help them come to the mainstream,” he lamented and said that the draft copy of the Anti-Superstition Bill has earned lot of oppositions and this is clearly the opposition from the upper classes who want the Ahindacommunities to be trapped in the web of superstitious beliefs.
Ahinda District Unit leader Vasudev Boloor said that all the parties have always given top rank of leadership to upper communities so far.
He said that there are conspiracies going on to break Ahinda, which the communities must sense and stay united.
Leader Hameed Kandak endorsing the views of Mr Boloor said that the Ahinda communities have to be united against the forces tried to break their unity.
Ahinda working president B A Mohommad Haneef among others were present.
