Mangaluru, Mar 11: The production team of 'Soombe' Tulu feature film is all set to release the romantic-comedy in selected 12 theatres in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts on Friday, March 13.
Directed by Saikrishna Kudla, the movie features Mangalorean Rahul and Mumbai-based Shritama Mukherji as lead actors.
Addressing a press conference at a movie cineplex here on Wednesday, director Saikrishna Kudla said that the movie, produced by Sri Yajnadhyav Productions, had been shot in 38 days in locations across Mangaluru, Sakleshpur and a studio in Bengaluru. The movie also features well-known Tulu artistes Devadas Kapikad, Naveen D Padil, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor and Aravind Bolar along with Bullet Prakash from the Kannada film industry and Shrinagar Kitti in a guest appearance role, he informed.
He said that he had adopted a different kind of screenplay in the feature film that revolved around a love story between the lead characters. It features a movie within the movie, said Mr Kudla, in his third directional venture in Tulu cinema.
On Friday, the movie will release in four theatres in Mangaluru and in eight theatres in Udupi, Karkala, Manipal, Moodbidri, Belthangady, B C Road and Puttur, he added.
The producer Kishore Kottary said that the movie had been made in a budget of Rs 1 crore. The soundtrack of the film, which has five songs, has been composed by music director Edburg Dillon.
Producer Kishore Kottary, Shwetha Kishore, actors Bhojaraj Vamanjoor and Rahul, and Prasanna Shetty were present on the occasion.
