Bengaluru, Feb 17: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will present the State Budget on March 13.
Announcing this on Monday after felicitating Bengaluru-based composer Ricky Kej for winning the Grammy for ‘Best New Age Album’, Mr. Siddaramaiah said the budget session of the State legislature would be held from March 13 to 31. This is the 10th budget to be presented by Mr. Siddaramaiah, who also holds the finance portfolio.
The Chief Minister said this year’s budget would lay emphasis on agriculture, irrigation, rural development, health, and infrastructure development. The budget preparatory meetings would be held from February 19, he said.
Mr. Siddaramaiah maintained that the State’s financial position was good by pointing out that tax collection had registered a growth of 14.3 per cent by January-end compared to the previous year’s figures.
On the Arkavathi Layout denotification issue, he termed the allegations by former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy as “baseless”. He said Mr. Kumaraswamy should submit the documents to prove his allegations before the Justice Kempanna Commission.
