Bengaluru, Sept 30: Notwithstanding opposition from a few organisations, Bengaluru police have given consent for an event featuring Bollywood actor Sunny Leone, which is scheduled for November 3 at a private hotel in Nagawara.
Police commissioner T Suneel Kumar confirmed the permission comes with certain conditions like ban on liquor sale and prior information about the number of people attending the event.
However, some Kannada activists continue to oppose Leone’s participation, claiming it would harm the “culture of the land.” Karnataka Rakshana Vedike chief Praveen Shetty said they won’t oppose Leone performing in Bengaluru but Kannada events should be promoted in November — Karnataka Rajyotsava is observed on November 1 — and her event will not do so in any way.
