Surathkal, Dec 9: A few communal outfits behind the Ulaibettu incident, subsequent clashes and violence in the area were trying to bring a bad name to the government and Dakshina Kannada district by creating unrest in sensitive areas of the taluk, which is condemnable, said Mangaluru North MLA B A Mohideen Bawa.

Stating that everyone had the right to a peaceful life, he lauded the efforts of the Mangaluru City Police Commissioner and police officers along with concerned citizens in stemming the escalating unrest. He said that the chief minister and home minister had been informed of the communal unrest in the district.
He also appealed to the police commissioner to conduct a detailed probe on the concerned incidents and also to appoint an impartial police officer as the station inspector at Mangaluru Rural police station.
