Bengaluru, May 30: The Nandini Layout police have arrested three people over suspicions that they threw stones and assaulted a JD(S) corporator's driver and party workers near Laggere on Sunday night.

The police arrested Harish, Anand and Kishore, all residents of Rajarajeshwari Nagar, following a complaint by one Jagadish. The complainant is JD(S) corporator Manjula Narayanaswamy's driver.

All the suspects were produced before the court and later released on bail.

According to a senior police officer, Jagadish along with other JD(S) workers was driving through the Laggere ward late night on Sunday. The suspects — travelling in a tempo traveller and bikes — waylaid the complainant's vehicle, picked up a quarrel and assaulted them.

In the melee, Jagadish and JD(S) worker Shankar were injured.

The police said that the suspects were in a bar on the Outer Ring Road and were drunk. They were angered when the complainant created a lot of noise while passing by the bar. So, they followed Jagadish's car and assaulted the group.
