
The arrested are Imran, Irshad and Hussain, all residents of Demmale in Mallur village in Bantwal taluk. All of the accused are in their early twenties.
Police produced them in court on Tuesday which remanded Irshad to police custody for three days. Imran and Hussain were sent to judicial custody. Police sources said four persons hatched the plot to eliminate Rajesh.
Two other accused-Althaf and Is 'hak- are still absconding. Police have launched manhunt to nab them.
On March 21, Rajesh was attacked at rickshaw parking place in Kalpane around 7 a.m. Motorcycle borne men reportedly came to the parking area and hit Rajesh with sharp weapons around his neck and chest. He collapsed at the spot. He died on his way to a city hospital. He was one of the accused in the 2007 murder case of Iqbal, who was also an auto-rickshaw driver. He had been acquitted in the case.
Police have recovered a motorbike and two swords from accused which used for the crime.
