Mysuru, Sep 15: Three Haj pilgrims from Karnataka are among over 100 people who were killed in the holy city of Makkah after a construction crane collapsed in Masjid al-Haram or the Grand Mosque last Friday.

G Khadarbi (45) and Sameena Banu (40), both of the same family in Siruguppa taluk of Ballari district lost their lives in the accident.
The two women were part of a 10-member team from Siruguppa, who had been on Haj pilgrimage, said G Mehboob Basha, a family member.
Khadarbi’s husband, G?Mohammed Yunus had been injured in the accident, Basha said. He added that the last rites were performed at Makkah on Monday.
The remaining seven pilgrims are safe. The team had travelled to Makkah through a Hyderabad-based private travel agency. Basha and his three brothers work as electrical contractors.
Zakira Begum (41) wife of Inayathullah?Sharief, a resident of Mysuru, has also died in the crane crash.
The couple had been on the pilgrimage from the city. Sharief deals with confectioneries and the couple has five children — three sons and two daughters.
Missing, found dead Sharief had reported to the authorities concerned about his wife missing since the incident of the crane crash.
However, on Sunday night, Sharief identified the body of a woman in the mortuary, as that of his wife, sources added.
The mishap took place when Zakira was waiting for her husband at the Grand Mosque to join him after his prayers.
Sharief, who did not find his wife on return, was under the impression that she may have moved to a safer location following the mishap.
When all efforts to trace his wife did not yield results, he complained to the authorities concerned.
When contacted, Deputy Commissioner C?Shikha claimed ignorance saying, “I am yet to receive official communication in this regard”.
