Mangalore, Nov 25: Muhammad Asif and Mushthaq Ahmed, arrested in Mangalore in connection to illegal money transfer were produced before the Court and given transit warrant.
While the police had nabbed Muhammad Asif (24), resident of Kuthar-Madaka on Friday, he was produced before the Court on Saturday and his Transit Warrant was procured on the same day.
However, the cops faced problem in getting the transit warrant for Mushthaq Ahmed, who is a cancer patient receiving treat from Kidwai hospital Bangalore.
He was arrested on Saturday and the cops could not receive the transit warrant till Sunday.
The Judge who noticed the health condition of Mr Ahmed said that he could be produced before the Court again on Monday after providing needed medical treatment. However, on Monday Mr Ahmed collapsed in the Court and after getting medical help, Mr Ahmed was produced before the Court in the afternoon and the Judge then granted transit warrant for 15 days.
The doctors treating him have given in writing that since his health condition is not stable, long journey can be detrimental to his health.
Hawala connection
Several people living in the Gulf resort to Hawala to send their money to save the taxes. However, with the arrest of Zubair and Ayisha couple, several names in Mangalore, reportedly engaging in this illegal transaction has come to light.
The operations of Bihar police is going on mainly based on the information procured from Zubair during the interrogation.
However, the information being procured from Zubair is six month old details and the cops are yet clueless over the distribution of Rs 2 crore that was sent from Bihar.
The two arrested later have been saying that they have received the amount for themselves and that they are not into any illegal business.
In Ayisha's seven bank accounts Rs 6 crores were transferred, of which only Rs 2 crores were from Bihar while the rest of money came from the Gulf countries.
Zubair had called some people to come and meet him in specified addresses so that he could hand over the money. Asif and Mushthaq were the two who had come to meet Zubair.
Further Bihar Intelligence cops have kept an eye on several such people whom Zubair has mentioned about during the interrogation.
Not a terrorist
Mushthaq's relative Sharief is pained by the fact that Mushthaq's name is being dragged into the case.
“He is not a terrorist," says Sharief adding that the money that was sent to Mushthaq was sent to him by his relatives for his treatment, which is very expensive.
Sharief has pleaded to the media to publish details after verifying it.
Bihar team
A team from Bihar will be arriving in Mangalore to take the two to Bihar for investigation.
Seven more persons will be issued warrant from Bihar police. Once the team reaches Bihar with the two, another team will be in Mangalore to complete the arrests.
