On November 3, Faizal, an under trail, had called media persons, who were waiting outside the Mangaluru prison, and accused prison officials of being involved in the murder of Madoor Isubbu and his associate Ganesh Shetty inside the prison on November 2.
Faizal had claimed that the weapons used to murder the duo were supplied by the jail staff to the murderers in the previous night.
He spoke with reporters while he was seated in the police van that was taking him for appearance before a city court. Two police constables were in the van as escorts.
A preliminary inquiry has found the two police constables of dereliction in carrying out their duty. One police constable has been working with the Konaje police station while the other was attached to Mangaluru North police station. The two have been placed under suspension pending departmental inquiry, an official said.
