Mangaluru/Udupi, Dec 8: Two persons were run over by trains in two separate incidents in undivided Dakshina Kannada district yesterday.

At around 2 a.m. on Friday, an unidentified person was crushed to death near Mangaluru Junction Railway Station.
It is suspected that the man, aged between 35 and 40 years, was crossing the tracks when a speeding train knocked him down.
In another incident, a young worker was killed when a train ran over him at Indrali in Udupi.
According to the police, Nagaraj, 21, was removing gravel on the railway track.
He was immersed in his work and did not notice the train coming even though other workers shouted to alert him.
The Madgaon-Mangaluru DEMU train (train number 70105), coming from Barkur, ran over him.
Nagaraj, who suffered severe head injuries, died.
A case of unnatural death had been registered at the Manipal police station, the police said.
