Bengaluru, Mar 1: Two drunk passengers of a domestic flight, who created a ruckus by abusing the captain and cabin crew midway on their journey, were booked by the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) police.
According to the police, the drunk duo were a part of a group returning from the northeast after attending a wedding. The duo picked a quarrel with the cabin crew over a trivial issue. The two demanded a menu card and a beverage which the cabin crew said they did not have. This resulted in the quarrel, the police said.
They screamed at the cabin crew members and were abusing them loudly which caused panic among other passengers. When the plane landed in Bengaluru, the captain and cabin crew, after discussions with their seniors, lodged a police
complaint.
The KIA police registered a case of nuisance against the two and took them into custody.
AirAsia India, in its statement, mentioned the incident involving the ‘unruly and disruptive’ behaviour by passengers, which could have potentially caused danger and harm to those on-board. The two passengers, classified as ‘unruly and disruptive’ by the captain and cabin crew in their remarks, boarded the flight under the influence of alcohol and created nuisance on the flight.
“The passengers in question, inconsiderate of flying etiquette, caused much disturbance by not only being extremely loud, but were uncouth in their behaviour displayed in causing nuisance to the cabin crew as well. The airline condemns this unfortunate incident and calls out the implications that directly lead to the safety and security of cabin crew and guests on-board,’’ the statement said.
