Kasargod, Nov 2: Providing a much-needed breakthrough in the murder of Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) activist P Muralidharan near here, police have taken into custody two RSS-BJP workers in the sensational case.

Prime accused Sharathraj and his accomplice Dinesh were rounded up by a special police team investigating the case, near Dharmasthala in Karnataka on Saturday. The two are being interrogated and their arrest, in all probability, would be registered on Sunday, a senior police official here said. Sharathraj is the son of RSS activist Dayanand, who was stabbed to death near Kumbla back in 2001.
The fresh incident of murder was said to be a revenge killing. The slain Muralidharan, an accused in the Dayanand murder case, was set free on bail in connection with the incident. The police were looking for the car in which the accused had fled after committing the crime, as the team had received definite clues regarding the vehicle operator, police sources here said. The police would also make efforts to recover the weapons used in the murder.
