The police identified the deceased as Dishak (15), who was studying at Morarji Desai Residential School in Vagga.

The boy took this extreme step allegedly due to depression nearly two years after his father Devanna Kamath committed suicide by hanging himself in a similar manner.

According to Dishak’s friends as usually he dressed in uniform on Friday morning but did not go to school. He reportedly told them that he would come after sometime.

However, later he was found hanging inside his room. Even though the exact reason for the boy’s extreme step is not yet known, it is suspected that loneliness and depression abetted him to do so.

It is learnt that he was a talented student in his class. His elder brother Deepak is perusing degree at Shri Rama Vidya Kendra in Kalladka. His mother Shyamala has lost vision in both eyes.

A case has been registered at Bantwal rural police station and investigations are on.

i am really surprised to see innocent faces like this taking extreme step of suicide. School management need to take care of it seriously. other day i was in a school and two of the school staff shouted at one girl for some school mentor issues in 5th std. and it was really against humanity and i myself felt very sad. later she started crying and i went and spoke to her and convinced her and i said same problem happened to me too when i was in school. dont worry. take it as challenge and show you are really talented. then she was satisfied.
