Udupi, Aug 23: Two persons were killed in as many road mishaps occurred in Udupi district on Saturday.

According to the police, Raghav was on his way from Kaup to Pangala when the accident took place near Vijaya Bank at Pangala. Raghav was thrown off his bike and was severely injured. He was rushed to a hospital in Udupi, where he died.
Rash and negligent driving by the car driver is said to be the cause of the accident. A case had been registered at the Kaup police station, the police said.
In a separate accident, a man died and another was injured, when the auto-rickshaw in which they were travelling dashed against a wall of a hotel at Mabukala village in Kota police station limits on Saturday.
According to the police, the autorickshaw, coming from Hungarcutta to Mabukala, swerved to avoid a cow that was crossing the road. Driver Dhananjaya, who was alleged driving in great speed, could not avoid hitting the wall. Aliyas D’Silva, the autorickshaw passenger, was severely injured.
He was rushed to Mahesh Hospital in Brahmavar, where doctors pronounced him brought dead. Dhananjaya, was also injured, and is receiving treatment at the hospital. A case has been registered at the Kota police station, the police said.
