Udupi, Dec 6: A leader of Vishwa Hindu Parishad has been booked by the local police for allegedly trying to disrupt peace in the district through provocative speech.

The accused is Manjunath Swamy, head, South Zone Public Relations, VHP.
A case was registered against him at the Udupi Town Police Station here on Wednesday for making a provocative speech and hurting religious sentiments during the VHP’s Janagraha public meeting here on December 2.
The case was registered under Section 295A of Indian Penal Code based on a complaint given by Ansar Ahmed, said Superintendent of Police, Laxman B. Nimbargi.
