Hubballi, Aug 9: Reiterating that Congress and Janata Dal (Secular) will jointly fight upcoming Lok Sabha polls in Karnataka, former chief minister Siddaramaiah said that alliance in local body elections is left to the decision of respective district units of the party.

"Most likely, there would be no alliance in local body elections. But, there would be alliance between Congress and JD(S) in Lok Sabha elections," he told media persons at Hubballi Airport on Thursday, on his way to Bagalkot district.
When asked about JD(S) seems to be having an upper hand in the coalition government and 'brake' on Shadi Bhagya scheme, Siddaramaiah noted that all such issues would be discussed in the coalition government's co-ordination committee.
"We have to follow coalition dharma and JD(S) should also follow that," he added. MLA Prasad Abbayya, Congress leaders Altaf Halwoor, Sadanand Danganavar and others were present.
