
People should learn from the old generation’s readiness in making sacrifices to strengthen family ties, she said at the women’s adalat held near here.
Most of the cases that came up before the adalat on Wednesday related to family disputes over assets. Out of the 68 cases, 37 were settled. Reports were sought in respect of 11 cases while 20 cases were posted for the next session.
In one of the significant cases, a woman was given monetary relief by the relatives of her late husband.
The complainant’s case was that her husband, a liquor addict, had finished off bulk of the family’s assets. An amount of Rs.1 lakh was handed over to the woman at the adalat.
