Ballari, June 24: The Karnataka State Women's Commission has issued a notice to Ballari Superintendent of Police, R?Chethan, to appear before it on June 30 in connection with the complaint filed by former deputy superintendent of police, Anupama Shenoy.

According to the complaint, the subordinate officers were instructed to register a complaint against only two persons in connection with the dispute over a liquor shop in Kudligi. However, the SP directed to register cases against three persons, which led to protest.
Shenoy has said that it had become a habit for the SP?to trouble people by invoking non-bailable provisions even in petty cases. Chetan said that he will appear before the commission with all the relevant documents. Meanwhile, Shenoy met former minister Srinivas Prasad at his residence in Bengaluru.
