Mangalore, Jul 24: Yenepoya University has received a certificate of excellence as a great place to study. Bob Blackman, MP, UK handed over the certificate to Dr Ravi Vaswani, former registrar of the university. SkillTree Knowledge Consortium selected 20 universities from throughout India a top educational institutes at par with top global institutes. Dr Vaswani represented the University and received the award in the Churchill Room at House of Commons.
Dr Vaswani made a presentation highlighting state of the art facilities at the university. The certificate entitles the university to use the "Great Place to Study - India Edition" logo from 2014 - 2016 through media advertisements and website publicity. Times Now will cover the event in its new channel and SkillTree will come out with a Whitebook on India Education featuring a 4-page article on Yenepoya University.
Dr C V Raghuveer, registrar, Yenepoya University said the Consortium was set up in 2012 with the objective of identifying, nurturing and developing consultancy for universities/institutions across India and putting India back on global map of education. First time this year, they examined universities and institutions across India and identified them for innovations and knowledge creation potentials.
This has now come to be known as SkillTree Knowledge Consortium Global Indian Education League - Great Place to Study: Indian Edition, where 20 universities and institutions across India were identified. Consortium decided to recognize institutions in a public event organized in the House of Commons, London. Each institution was invited to make a 4-5 minute presentation highlighting their institution.
