
After a series of raids and arrests across the country by police of various states for criticizing Mr Modi in social network sites and college magazines, now the a youth has been arrested in Tamil Nadu for posting a message against RSS on Facebook.
Mohamed Aslam I (21), an ITI dropout, is the accused. He was arrested on Wednesday on a complaint from P. Munithurai (27), who runs an omni-van service for school students at Kilakarai, under Sections 295(A) of the Indian Penal Code (malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) and 66A of the Information Technology Act, 2000 (sending offensive messages), Superintendent of Police N.M. Mylvahanan said.
He was produced before a magistrate court and remanded in judicial custody. He was lodged in the juvenile home at Melur near Madurai, Mr. Mylvahanan said.
Before arresting him, the police obtained legal opinion whether his message attracted Section 295(A) of the IPC, he said.
Aslam said in the message that the activities of the RSS were on the rise in the district, and its volunteers attempted to convert Muslim women. He also warned Muslim women against using the van owned by Munithurai.
