Mangalore, August 28: A group of activists took out a procession in the city hailing the victory of anti-corruption campaigner Anna Hazare, who broke his 12 day long fast on Sunday.
Akhila Bharata Karmika Sangha leaders Sudatta Jain and Santosh, who were on fast-unto-death agitation since last seven days extending support to Anna Hazare's movement, too broke their fast in front of the Office of Deputy Commissioner here at 10 am.
The duo had launched agitation on August 22 near Divine Complex at Kavoor. The following day they had changed the location to Gandhi Vana in front of Town Hall and the shifted to the premises of the Office of Deputy Commissioner.
Activists Annaiah Kulal, Praveen Valke and Gaurishankar helped the duo break their week-long fast.
Raising slogans in support Anna Hazare and his movement, the activists led by Mr Jain marched towards the Gandhi Vana near Town Hall and garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi before returning to their homes.
