Journalists have a field day at Sports meet

Mangalore, January 9: Journalists, who will always be running in pursuit of news took a day off, and treated themselves to some fun activity - playing with ball, musical chair, tug of war and even the desi children games like lagori on Sunday at St. Aloysius College Sports ground on Sunday.

The reporters who make stories of politicians pulling each others leg, themselves tied their legs and pulled legs, quite literally while participating in three-legged race and dashed to their destination despite falling every now and then.

The sports meet got off to a mouthwatering start with ice cream eating competition for women and banana eating competition for men. Cricket, slow bike race, searching coin hidden on the floor using mouth, brisking walking race, along with running.

Inauguration: The event was organised by the Working Journalists Association, Dhakshina Kannada, after a gap of 10 years. National level sportswoman Varsha by lighting the lamp. District in-charge Minister Krishna J Palemar, Mangalore Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh, Deputy Commissioner Channappa Gowda, MCC commissioner Harish Kumar, Zilla Panchayat CEO Dr K. N. Vijayaprakash, Working Journalists Association president Harish Rai, secretary Srinivas and others were present on the occasion.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, District Information Officer Rohini, actress Ramya Barne, Mangalore Airport director M.R. Vasudev, among others, attended the event and wished the participating journalists good luck.
