A.J. Shetty elected president of Kadri temple committee

Mangalore, March 20: The Government of Karnataka has appointed new trustees to the Kadri Manjunatha Temple management committee for a period of three years.

The new trustees are: Raghavendra Adiga (priest), Devdas Kumar Pandeshwar, Smt. Surekha Raj Babugudde, Nivedita N. Shetty, A.J. Shetty, Bendoorwell, S. Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, H.K. Purushotham Bikarnakatte, Dr. P. Ananthakrishna Bhat and B. Ratnakar Putran, Bokkapatna.

The first meeting of the management committee was held on Monday and A.J. Shetty was unanimously elected as the president of the prestigious body.

B.K. Kusumadhar, who had been functioning as the administrative officer, handed over the reins to the new president. BJP leaders Monappa Bandary, Srikara Prabhu, member of the renovation committee Kadri Navaneeth Shetty, among others, were present.

The department has issued a formal directive urging—and in some cases, enforcing via home visits—a total blackout of mobile phones and television sets between 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM. This two-hour window is being designated as "sacred study time" across the state until the examinations conclude on April 2.

• Doorstep Advocacy: Teachers are transitioning from classrooms to living rooms, meeting parents to explain the psychological benefits of a distraction-free environment.

• The Timeline: The focus remains sharp on the upcoming exam block, scheduled from March 18 to April 2.
