Can’t forget Advani’s speech; he’s responsible for ‘success’; I was part of ‘struggle’: BSY on Babri verdict

Bengaluru, Sept 30: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on Wednesday hailed the verdict of the special CBI court that acquitted senior BJP leader L K Advani and others charged with hatching a criminal conspiracy leading to the demolition of the Babri Mosque 28 years ago. 

“This is an auspicious day. The Lucknow CBI court has given a historic judgement,” Yediyurappa told reporters.

“I was also a part of this struggle and the verdict has made me personally happy. Many were waiting for it. For fighters, victory is always there and this is a fresh example,” he said, calling it a “victory of the truth.” 

Referring to Advani as “a great man”, Yediyurappa said the judgement was a result of his struggle. “No one can forget the speech Advani made,” he said.

“The Ram Mandir verdict has come and work has already started. Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharti and others are responsible for the success and the judgement has brought happiness to all,” he said.

Bengaluru, Oct 16: The City Crime Branch (CCB), Bengaluru has served notice to actor Vivek Oberoi's wife Priyanka Alva Oberoi over links with brother Adithya Alva in connection with the Sandalwood drug case, the concerned officials said on Friday.

The CCB had raided actor Vivek Oberoi's Mumbai residence in search of his relative Aditya Alva in connection with the case on Thursday.

Aditya Alva, son of former Karnataka Minister Jeevaraj Alva, is one of the accused in the Sandalwood drugs racket.

Earlier, Kannada actress Ragini Dwivedi was arrested and taken into custody for her alleged involvement in a drug case.

Notably, Kannada filmmaker Indrajit Lankesh, had appeared before the CCB and revealed information about the consumption of drugs in the Kannada film industry.

Mangaluru, Oct 8: A 60-day-old baby boy, who was battling for life due to kidney and heart disease, has been brought from Shivamogga to Mangalore via zero traffic.

AIMDF ICU on wheels ambulance fitted with a ventilator and cardiac care ferried the baby Syed Nauman in a span of 2 hours 55 mins, covering a distance of 350kms. Due to a road block at Agumbe ghat, the Ambulance was diverted via Chikmagalur.

The vehicle had departed from Sarji Hospital Shivamogga at 1145 hrs and reached Mangalore Wenlock Hospital at 0240 hrs.

Hospital sources said on Thursday that the Baby Syed Nauman is suffering from Medium Chain Acyl CoA Dehydrogenase deficiency, a rare disease found in 1 in 100 new born children.

After reaching Mangalore, the baby was rushed on a ventilator and had to undergo surgery.

Zeeshan Asad AIMDF-JEEVA ambulance driver was praised for his unique gesture for ferrying the sick baby free of cost. Once he reached the hospital in Mangalore, he was felicitated by the people. As the news of ferrying a sick baby between two cities went viral on social media, the public made way for the vehicle.

All India Muslim Development Forum National Spokesperson Shaikh Muzaffer added that AIMDF will take care of all medical expenses free of cost , So the AIMDF chair board decided to make the treatment of baby free of cost and handed over the hospital charge to AIMDF State Working and medical in charge Abubaker Sajipa and Dakshina Kannada president Mr Asif Chokkabettu.

AIMDF National Spokesperson Mr Shaikh Muzaffer from UAE thanked Karnataka Police & the public for making zero traffic.

Mangaluru, Oct 14: Many parts of the coastal city are severely affected by the incessant rain which is pounding Manglauru and other parts of coastal Karnataka for past couple of days, disrupting normal life.

Low-lying areas Kottara Chowki and Malemar in Mangaluru have been inundated due to poor drainage systems.

Water had entered houses and shops and drains were overflowing in the area. Several inmates were seen draining flooded water on Wednesday morning.

The water logging on several roads including at Pumpwell, K S Rao Road inconvenienced motorists as well as pedestrians.

The IMD had predicted heavy rain in parts of Karnataka owing to depression in the Bay of Bengal.

Owing to heavy rain, two houses were damaged at Subrahmanya. The landslides beside Subrahmanya-Puttur road have brought down several trees.
