Hubbballi, Jan 12: Former Karnataka Chief Minister and currently the opposition leader in the State Legislative Assembly, Mr Siddharamiah called upon his party workers to prepare themselves to fight against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government headed by Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa as it has "failed in all levels" to provide a good government in the state.

Addressing the divisional level Sankalp Samavesh of the Belgaum Division of the Congress party held here yesterday, Mr. Siddharamiah said time has come to unmask the failures of the BJP government. He said that the party workers, by launching the movement, make house to house visits and convince people that the BJP is misleading them by playing the Cow slaughter (Gau Hatya) and Hindutva Card. The Hindutva preached by the BJP is not the Hindutva preached by Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and Vallabh Bhai Patel, he said and added that his party will not keep quiet any more.

The former chief minister alleged that while the Congress party was in power, the BJP accused us of neglecting the North Karnataka region and made tall promises with regard to Mahadai River Water issue. But, having come to power, they have failed to solve the Mahadai River Water and many other issues and misleading the people by playing the communal card.

Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President D K Shivakumar, addressing the Conference said that this year will be treated as the year of fight and year of organizing the party. Throughout the year the party will organize Movement against the government and through which to become the voice of the people, he added.
