Mangalore, June 14: KMC Hospital, Mangalore observed World Blood Donor Day on Thursday, by organising a blood donation camp at its premises near Ambedkar Circle in the city.
Nalin Kumar Kateel, Mangalore MP, inaugurated the programme and penned the message “Donate Blood, Save Life, Save India” on the Graffiti Wall set up in the hospital premises.
Members of corporates, colleges, clubs, associations, print and electronic media donated blood thereby setting an example and appealing to the society to join hands for such noble causes.
Large number of doctors, staffs and management team of KMC Hospital, Mangalore also donated blood. About 203 units of blood were collected through this camp from 9:00 am to 4:00pm.
Dr.Sunil Deshpande, Senior VP – Operations KMC Hospital, Mangalore, urged the people to continue with this noble cause and to continue to donate blood since a healthy person can donate blood as often as every three to four months.
