Mangaluru: Control room for coronavirus set up at DC's office

Mangaluru, Mar 25: A full-fledged control room was set up at the Deputy Commissioner's office in Mangaluru to collect all information about the suspected patients.  

The control room will function under the guidance of KIADB special land acquisition officer.  

All the details on those who arrived from foreign countries via Mangalore Airport, via airports in other districts, primary and secondary contacts of the people who arrived from foreign countries are being compiled at the control room.

Bengaluru, Sept 24: Popular Kannada comedian Rockline Sudhakar, who was also a supporting actor, passed away due to cardiac arrest during the shooting for a film on Thursday.

Filmmaker Suni, took to his Twitter page to announce the unfortunate passing away of the comedian.

He has worked in over 200 movies including 'Vaastu Prakara', 'Ayyo Rama', 'Topiwala' and 'Mukunda Murar'.

Sudhakar, who made a memorable debut in the ace Director Yogaraj Bhat’s ‘Pancharangi’, was on the sets of the film ‘Sugar Less’, produced by Pushkara Mallikarjunaiah. The senior actor had recently recovered from Covid-19.

Sudhakar entered the world of Kannada entertainment when he started working as the driver to film producer Rockline Venkatesh. His debut was in a side role in Malashree’s film Belli Modagalu in 1992.

Sudhakar was later pulled into the world of production by Rockline Venkatesh. When Venkatesh started Rockline Productions, he tapped Sudhakar to be the production controller. Sudhakar worked as the production controller for 36 films produced by Rockline Productions including Aayudha, Agni IPS, Himapaati and Rasika, thereby gaining the moniker Rockline Sudhakar. “He was a trusted associate of Rockline Venkatesh. If anyone wanted to get in touch with Venkatesh, they would have had to first meet Sudhakar,” KFCC President Jairaj recounted.

Rockline Sudhakar has acted in over 200 movies in his career.

Kalaburagi, Sept 14: Kalaburagi police conducted a raid, arrested an accused and seized 223 kilograms of Ganja (cannabis) plants in Dharithanda of Kalaburagi district on Sunday, said police.

The value of the Ganja plants is about Rs 10.5 lakh, according to the police.

A case has been registered in Chincholi police station, Superintendent of Police, Kalaburagi said.

Chikkaballapur, Sept 12: Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar has warned Kolar-Chikkaballapur DCC Bank of action if it does not drop a particular regulation pertaining to loans.

Sudhakar was speaking after distributing cheques for loans to 119 self-help groups under Harobande, Tippenahalli, Poshettihalli, Gollahalli, Chikkaballapura and other gram panchayats of Chikkaballapura constituency, on Friday.

According to a press note, he said several complaints are being heard against the DCC Bank's regulation. Questioning how the beneficiaries could avail the benefit of a loan when a 20% share is secured from them, he urged that the regulation must be discontinued. He warned them to follow the government's regulation or face strict actions.

Dr Sudhakar said the Bank should provide service that is just and pro-people.
