Mangalore, July 24: Sharada Educational Insitutions, Kodialbail, Mangalore, have organized Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district-level cultural competitions for primary, secondary and higher secondary students on July 26, 27, 28 and 30 on the school premises.
Addressing presspersons here on Monday, Prof. M.B. Puranik, president of the institution, said the purpose of the competition was to trigger passion and love for art and culture among young children.
The competitions also coincide with the biennial celebrations of the institution. Drawing, singing of Carnatic Music, bharathanatyam, folk dance, Bhagavad Gita memorization, rangoli and yogasana are the main events, Mr. Puranik said.
There is no entry fee for the competition. Competitions will also be held for pre-university course students. The dates will be announced later. Interested can contact the organisers through the respective schools. For more details, call 0824-2492628/2493089.
