Poojas were held in prominent temples of the district including Mangaladevi Temple and Kateel Durgaparameshwari Temple even before the official order of the government reached.
“Although the government order reached Durga Kateeleshwari Temple at 11 am, special poojas for rain had already been conducted at the Temple”, Dr. Harish Kumar, Commissioner, MCC, and administrator of the Temple, said.
In Subhramanya however, no special poojas for rain took place today. The related poojas had been conducted on the occasion of Nagara Panchami itself, Temple sources said.
Kota Srinivas Poojary, Muzrai Minister, had ordered that special poojas for rain be held in temples under the Muzrai Department across the state on July 27 and August 2, soon after he took charge of the post.
